Hotel refrigerators, so-called minibars, are expected to work silently. For over 90 years now, gas sorption minibars have contained ammonia, water and a small amount of carcinogenic additives (dichromates).
In order to work, these minibars need heat, which is supplied by an electrical heating system. The resulting overall efficiency is significantly lower than conventional household refrigerators with compressor systems, but the minibars are quieter.
The ZeoBar™ is a new silent and high-efficiency minibar cooling unit that is completely free from hazardous substances.
The energy consumption of the ZeoBar™ is ~25% lower than the efficiency of a conventional minibar with ammonia technology. At higher ambient temperatures (such as 32°C) the ZeoBar™ achieves lower internal temperatures than conventional ammonia systems.
