Freezer Box

Zeo-Tech has developed a demonstrator of a mobile Freezer Box (see photos), which is suitable for transporting ice cream, for example.

The temperature development illustrated in the graphic first shows the desorption phase, in which the freezer box (empty and open) is activated. Here the inner metal surfaces act as condensation surfaces for water vapour desorbed from the zeolite absorber. The zeolite is heated with electrical heating rods to over 180°C.

Once the adsorber has cooled down, an internal valve is opened and the inner metal surfaces of the box cool down rapidly due to the evaporating water. Within a relatively short time, the temperature inside the box falls to below –18°C. Now ice cream, for example, can be put inside and transported over a period of several hours under ideal storage conditions.
